Ellana, hello. This is Saoirse, we met the other night near the docks and spoke briefly.
( her voice sounds stained, worried and verging on sadness. )
I know you have visited the alienage in the past so I must ask that you be careful. Something... ah, something has happened— elves vanishing. I know you can protect yourself but some of the missing could protect themselves too.
Oh, Saoirse! I've noticed people missing too. But the others -- have they told you anything? They just won't talk about where those I've noticed missing have gone. And those left behind are doing the missing's jobs for them, like they're just accepting that fact. There has to be something we can do.
They've said nothing, but I expected as much. The city guard is unlikely to spare time nor manpower to find missing elves and they must do what needs to be done in order to survive day to day. They don't wish to stand out, to make themselves a possible target.
( it was something that dug deep in almost every alienage. ) B-but as you said, we can do something. We can do what they cannot.
[ Ellana is out of her element here. She doesn't know alienage life or what they've dealt with day to day, and despite living in a Circle, Saoirse has lived in an alienage too and has far more connections there than Ellana does. ]
We might not have any luck in the alienage but there are elves living in Darktown too. They might also be missing people, perhaps we can learn something from them or at least try to see if there are any simiarlities to the missing.
I'm not sure off the top of my head. It's been a few years since I last visited Darktown, but there might be some mages from the Gallows still living there.
It's worth a look. I want to help anyway I can, but I know I'm an outsider here. I don't know much about Kirkwall or city elf life yet, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stand by and let this continue.
But you're willing to learn and, that alone, says a lot. Kirkwall has suffered enough, we can be the change we spoke about and help this city for the better too.
